Revit to Indoors: A Management Journey at Denver International Airport

The Denver International Airport (DEN) is widely recognized for its leadership in BIM. As part of a recent modernization initiative, DEN took a major leap forward by extending that BIM vision into geographic information system (GIS) technology—transforming how spaces inside the airport are mapped, managed, and maintained. In this session, you’ll learn how digital facilities and infrastructure (DFI) and GIS collaborated to build an 18-million-square-foot ArcGIS Indoors database spanning the entire campus using detailed Revit models. More than 7,000 rooms in this space management Digital Prototyping are now spatially enabled and linked to identifiers used in asset and facilities systems. We’ll share key milestones from our 10-year Management and cover how recent breakthroughs connected Revit and ArcGIS workflows. From exporting BIM to ArcGIS Indoors to now strategizing about how to push data back to Revit, DEN is building a truly bidirectional BIM-GIS environment—bringing spatial intelligence to new disciplines and teams across the airport.

How Analytics Is Bringing Insights to Toyota's Factory Projects

This case study will cover portfolio creation on business intelligence developed by Toyota Motor North America and Autodesk Consulting. We will discuss Toyota's business requirements, KPIs, and metrics. We'll evaluate Autodesk sources—including Data Connector and the Autodesk Platform Services Token Flex API—against Toyota's requirements. The presentation will teach BI development from raw data extracted from Autodesk products. It will list technical aspects of the ELT process for data extracting, loading, and transforming. An area of focus will be the data engineering processes required to produce meaningful consolidated tables, where data are sliced and diced to target KPIs. The final products include modules' BI dashboards for Executive Overview, RFIs, Issues, Submittals, Forms, Assets, and token consumption, which transform raw data into actionable insights that inform tactical business decisions. The visuals generated from BI equip Toyota with detailed intelligence about the state of the business.

Breaking Through the Cloud: Vanderlande's Baggage Handling Revolution at LAX

The airports construction industry is undergoing a significant transformation, shifting from historically paper-based projects to fully integrated, cloud-based modeling and coordination. Vanderlande, a leader in future-proof logistics process automation for airports, is at the forefront of this change reshaping the future of airports! This case study of the Los Angeles (LAX) Tom Bradley International Terminal explores Vanderlande's transition to fully cloud-based projects showcasing our adoption journey with Autodesk Forma for project coordination and BIM management in this large-scale, multi-phase, brownfield design-build project. We will show how we are delivering this project with our AutoCAD/Navisworks based workflow, while transforming the way we, and our industry works by increasing coordination issue creation efficiency by up to 75%, reducing clash report generation by up to 90%, and increasing coordination efficiency by up to 50% using Autodesk Forma.

Modeling London's Transport Future: Technology Drivers in a $1.6 Billion Capital Investment Project

This class will provide an overview of how Bechtel has used technology to help drive the capital investment project at London Gatwick, which is the world’s busiest single runway airport and the second largest airport in the UK. The discussion will focus on how Autodesk® software has been implemented along with a range of other technologies to deliver a carefully planned, multidisciplinary project, including new terminal buildings, renovations, and infrastructure works. With over 200 projects either in progress or planned, the coordination between the airport authority, Bechtel, and a host of subcontractors is crucial, and it requires intelligent use of standards and collaboration tools. Civil Asset Model Management at DEN

This course will give you an overview of civil asset management at Denver International Airport. What are the civil assets? Denver International Airport (DEN) has a campus size of roughly 34,000 acres. DEN Asset Management is tasked with tracking existing and new assets across the entire airport. Learn how the Digital Facilities and Infrastructure (DFI) group in DEN Asset Management manages airport models and asset models. DFI is tracking 200+ projects at the airport. The Autodesk Forma Asset Module has model linking so that changes to the models are pushed into the Forma Build environment in Autodesk Forma. In this class, you will see a demo of how asset model linking is done based on criteria loaded into the models by our design consultants. DEN is completing an inventory of airfield stormwater structures. You'll learn how the collection of the data via electronic means has saved time and effort. And you'll see how, as an owner, the data can be used as we manage the civil assets into the future across our maintenance and engineering teams.
